Integrated Village Development and Watershed Programme (Uttarakhand)
Livelihoods were one of the most significant losses faced by Uttarakhand's communities after the 2013 floods. In 2015, Titan initiated a 5-year IVDP (Integrated Village Development Project) and WATSAN (Water and Sanitation) to rehabilitate the affected areas in the hilly terrains affected by the floods.
IVDP focused on providing alternate off-farm livelihood options such as livestock, cattle feed, orchard development, and more. The core was to build self-sustaining, women-led enterprises and community-based organizations.
Under the WATSAN programme, Titan embarked on a rehabilitation project to provide safe drinking water through water schemes and the construction of sanitation facilities in the hilly terrains affected by the floods. Over 2800 households benefitted through the various water bodies, sanitation, and livelihood interventions.
